After the ice...
You will want to click this bigger.
Courtesy of Michigander Sister. This was snapped with a Samsung Tablet three days before Christmas.
If Mama Snow showed up in her neighborhood today, Michigander Sister would be out with a slingshot quicker than you can say Michigan Winter.
She lives in a magical place that is getting on her last nerve.

I spy
I love the play of light in this shot. I like the way the ivy is climbing the crabapple. I like the little knot that may or may knot be home to some critter

What do you see?
Taken on the shore of Lake Ontario in July of 2012.
I have a fascination for driftwood.
What do you see?

Smokey...
Any good tree blog needs a picture of Smokey.
Taken at the Visitor Center at Kittery, Maine.
I like the way Smokey's shovel handle appears to branch out into a tree.
Thursday, aka Friday Eve!

Sumac
Summer's coming. And with it the sumac to the left of the pond. Planted by a squirrel, it takes over that section of the garden and there's nothing I can do to get rid of it. It's crowded out the sand cherry that I planted.

restrained harvesting...
Traveling along Route 103 between Kittery and Portsmouth, Maine, we pulled off the road at the entrance to Fort McClary State Park.
So sayeth the signage.
Clearly a tree was cut. Perhaps, it was the result of storm damage.
I was attracted to the light bouncing off the cut wood.
Restrained Harvesting.
Here be Tuesday!

Roots
It's not always good for the tree, but exposed roots always catch my attention. They remind me that the tree is a living breathing entity. They also remind me of my connections to the earth.

congestion...
Just ever so much...
...congestion.
This will be my last weekend post. I'll be moving to a Tuesday/Thursday slot.
See you next on Tuesday.
Here be Sunday!

Privacy
Who needs fencing when you have trees and hedges. I walked right up to that gate and still couldn't see the whole of the house.

Haven
I thought of cropping this photo so you could see the beauty of the tree close-up but the reason I actually snapped the photo was because the tree was an oasis in that field on a dry unusually HOT Spring day in Scotland.

Winter Beauty...
Go ahead. Click it bigger.
This is just the tip of the snowberg we had on Wednesday.
I'm trying to embrace winter's beauty...
Between shovels.

Petrified wood
Hmmm. I'm not sure what this really is, (I know it's rock) but it reminds me of a tree trunk. What does it remind you of?

Friendship
It looks like the tree on the right, while wearing a pretty necklace, is supporting the one on the left that lost a limb

tree-in-training...
Taken at an herb farm in Michigan in October of 2012.
Tree-In-Training.
It looks like me in Tai Chi class.

Ahhhhhh...
Don't we just need this right now?
Taken somewhere in Burbville in November of 2013.
If you can't be leaf-peeping in New England, this will do.
Saturday!
February!!
