I like the way Smokey's shovel handle appears to branch out into a tree.

Traveling along Route 103 between Kittery and Portsmouth, Maine, we pulled off the road at the entrance to Fort McClary State Park.

So sayeth the signage.

Clearly a tree was cut. Perhaps, it was the result of storm damage.

I was attracted to the light bouncing off the cut wood.

Untitled Tree...

I love the way the sunlight caught this tree and the brick wall in front of it.

This tree resides at the edge of Lake Skaneateles, Skaneateles, New York. It's about 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Everything was still and lovely.

Tall Wood...

I think of this as Tall Wood at Longwood. Taken in a conservatory at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. I could have spent days there.

This was taken last week somewhere on the National Mall, Washington, D.C. I love how the wee tree was so beautifully framed.

She who must be the Tree of Education. It's only fitting. I found her on the University of Prince Edward Island, aka UPEI, while touring there in September.  Look at that branch span.
