Roots

It's not always good for the tree, but exposed roots always catch my attention. They remind me that the tree is a living breathing entity.  They also remind me of my connections to the earth.

Indiana caution

I was looking through my Indiana photos, partly because the idea of living surrounded by trees is my idea of heaven, when I came across this tree using an old dead branch to reach for the chimney.  That's self-protective.
