You'd think that wouldn't affect trees but I cannot post photos from my phone. This makes me sad but I will remedy it as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience

Holly
This holly tree with the bright red berries and the leaves shining in the sun really caught my eye.
Here's a close up.

Night Shots...
This is one of my Hydrangea shrubs/trees -- paniculata PeeGee. It can be a tree or a shrub. It feels more treeish to me.
Yes. I took this shot last night at 10 pm while I was out with the cavorting G-Pup. I might have been cavorting, too. It was a full moon after all.
I used some flash. It was darksome.
This makes me think of picking cotton. Only it's winter. And it's cold.
Cheers!

Winter Maple...
Friday, I was lamenting (over at my blog) the lack of snow this Northern Girl was experiencing. I flashed a picture of Michigander Sister's snow-covered back garden. A part of it anyway. It's 10 acres. By the time I finished posting, it was snowing here.
Yes. I admit it. I called it.
This is my neighbor's maple tree taken at 5 pm of the same day. The snow continued.
Come back tomorrow. Check out 10 pm.
Cheers!

Burns Night
In honour of Robbie Burns, I share with you this sturdy Scot. Given its girth, this tree may possibly have been the inspiration for a Cotter's Saturday Night
At length his lonely cot appears in view,
Beneath the shelter of an aged tree;
Th' expectant wee-things, toddlin, stacher through
To meet their dad, wi flichterin noise and glee.
His wee bit ingle, blinkin bonilie,
His clean hearth-stane, his thrifty wifie's smile,
The lisping infant, prattling on his knee,
Does a' his weary kiaugh and care beguile,
An makes him quite forget his labor and his toil.

Texture
I took this picture with my phone, and it doesn't do this tree justice. The tree has this awesome peeling bark, and the texture in the evening light was amazing! I'll have to give it another try some day with my camera.

Zebra tree
My photos aren't as clear as Elen's but I did snap away when I stumbled across this funky tree while visiting Toronto in December.

Rooted
Tree roots fascinate. It's amazing that these exposed ones are able to support a tree, yet enough of them lie beneath the ground to do just that.

From the highway...
This almost looks black & white, but it's not. It's that grey, slushy look you get after the plows have gone through, after the cars have whizzed along a public road. Even the trees look like they've been coated in slush.
From the highway.
Cheers!

Wednesday Blue
I love the changing variegation of the sky as the sun sets each day. I especially love it as a background for looking up at trees.

Entwine
I don't know what it is about this tree, perhaps the shape of the trunk, or the vines entwined around it but I really like this one.

Snowflakes
I was completely charmed by the snowflake decorations in this tree, and the way they caught the light.

branching out...
This last series of tree photos I've posted have all been taken outside the same community library. I love how the branches are shooting out in all directions.
Cheers!

big and tall...
Really. I wanted to call her Your Majesty.
Isn't she beaut?
Here she is done in a black & white filter with Snapseed.
Big and Tall.

Contrasts
I like the way the lichen hangs off the top branches. I like the contrast between the green moss, light bark, yellow leafed background. I really liked these trees on the back route to Beatrix Potter's Center in Dunkeld.

Red Trees...
and blue and yellow! And lavender!
Keziah showed you her pictures of the artsy metal trees in London, Ontario. Below are a few of the pictures that I took.

Pittencrieff Park
There was more water in that creek than the photo would suggest or so I discovered when I stepped down to pick up a stone. I squelched all the way back to Edinburgh

What's wrong with this picture?
Nothing really but that painted metal tree isn't a beanstalk.
Theresa and I chased around London at New Year's taking pictures of their whimsical and striking metal trees. Enjoy
