Texture

I like all the different colours, lighting and texture in this image. We stumbled across this tree on the path from the train to Dunkeld. 

 Here it is surrounded by fern.

Holyrood Palace

We are standing on the grounds of Holyrood Palace looking out through the gate at the Salisbury Crags.  I love the contrast between the dark iron and the amber Larch.

Also taken in London, Ontario in the summer of 2011. It looks to be covered by some sort of lichen.

I can't say whether this is indicative of disease or what. Still, it has a beauty of its own.

Resilience

Trees will grow anywhere. This is the side of a small canal at the top of Niagara Falls

Ignore the fact that this tree is in the car park.  It is an incredible tree. Pure and simple

Dangling...

Again, taken in October of 2010, I love the way the branches of the different trees are dangling over the water and flopping about near the water's edge. Also, notice how the trunks are silhouetted in the water.
