This is Graft by Roxy Paine from his Dendroids tree series. Its locale is the National Art Gallery Sculpture Garden on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

I call it Tree of Steel.

I looked at these trees and immediately thought of triplets. They look like they've all just come from the clip and curl.

The Poodle Effect...

Taken on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. You could actually use these as nature's umbrellas.

They made me think of poodles that have been trimmed.
