Tree hugger

So tall and lovely and protective of its neighbour. I like the way way one appears to be hugging the other.

This shot was taken outside of the Whitby Public Library in Whitby, Ontario late spring/early summer. I always check-out the public library when I'm visiting a community. You?

I thought the pink would be a welcome change from the autumnal color!

In repose...

Back at Edwards Gardens in Toronto for today's Daily Tree.

I feel like I'm peeking in. The trees are in repose and unaware.

Nature's accessories

This tree lost its leaves early on so it draped a bright red cluster of leaves and berries across its bare branches.

None shall pass

 

This tree stood right at the water's edge. With its comrades, it provides a nearly impenetrable wall.  Small woodland creatures can seek landfall but humans are too big to squeeze through the roots and branches.

Seclusion

For some reason, this makes me think of a Robert Frost poem. I love everything about this image. The light. The dead settled in a secluded spot. I like to think it was of his choosing. The figure at the base of the cross. I wonder what that is about?
