The wind and rain were beating on this stately Pine but it held its ground.  Many a battle was fought at the foot of its ancestors so it knows not to flinch.

I like the contrast of the trunk and branches with the leaves and sky.  Nature has an incredible paint palate.

I took this photo when Theresa and I were collapsed on a bench after climbing to the top of Brock's Monument. I had my head tipped back and the branches fascinated me.
